Féminin Pluriel is a solo exhibition by Québec-based artist Pascale Bouchard at Reeves-Reed Arboretum, showcasing her unique encaustic technique using pigmented beeswax and heat. Open to all ages, the event features layered, luminous artworks that explore feminine themes through a contemporary lens.

On the first Friday of every month, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM*, the space transforms into a sensory-friendly environment designed to provide a welcoming and comfortable experience for all guests. During these dedicated hours, visitors are invited to explore the space with reduced sensory stimulation, creating a calmer and more accessible atmosphere for individuals and families who may benefit from a quieter setting. This sensory-friendly experience includes reduced lighting effects in select exhibits, with consistent, neutral lighting maintained throughout the space to support visual comfort and ease of movement. Crowd levels are intentionally lower during these hours to help minimize overstimulation and allow guests to engage with exhibits at their own pace. In addition, sound effects in certain exhibits are reduced, and overall ambient noise is kept to a minimum to promote auditory comfort. These thoughtful accommodations are intended to foster inclusivity and accessibility while preserving an engaging and enriching experience for all visitors. Clear signage, trained staff, and advanced communication further support guests in planning visits confidently and enjoying the experience comfortably and independently at ease. *In months when the first Friday falls on a holiday or coincides with special programming, an alternate date will be provided and communicated in advance.

A Summit resident permit is required to enter the Transfer Station facility and for other resident-only services like parking on certain levels in the Broad Street garage and other resident-only lots. Summit residents can obtain a permit online or in person at the Parking Services Agency at City Hall on 512 Springfield Avenue. Events are held on the second Saturday of each month from 8AM to 3PM, and on the fourth Friday of each month from 12PM to 2PM (third Friday in November, no Friday event in December). No appointments are necessary.

Family-friendly Discovery Weekends invite families with children ages 3 and up to explore the Arboretum’s gardens and grounds during autumn. Activities center around the Stackhouse Education Center.

Adults and teens 14+ can enjoy a playful goat yoga class in the garden. Bring a mat and water, and experience a relaxing outdoor session with friendly goats.

A fun, Harry Potter-themed chemistry class introducing elementary and middle school students (grades 1–6) to science through magical lab experiments. Presented by Dan Weismann of Super Science for Kids.

Free guided tours of the Arboretum are offered most Saturdays at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm, open to all ages. Visitors can explore the grounds with knowledgeable guides.

NJ Bubble Parties brings interactive bubble fun—including giant bubbles, bubble snow, foam, and smoke—to a backyard setting. Kids and adults alike can step inside a giant bubble. Ideal for all ages, with eye protection recommended.

A weeklong camp for rising 1st–2nd graders at Reeves-Reed Arboretum. Kids explore pollinators, honeybee hives, gardens, crafts, games, and stories while learning how plants and animals depend on each other.

A fun, interactive dance and movement class for babies and toddlers (ages 0–5) where adults join in singing, dancing, and activities that build fine motor skills.

Lunch Buddies: Pollinator Power is a summer camp add-on for rising 1st–2nd graders. It runs all week with lunch, food, fun, and friends for campers staying after morning sessions.

A 5-day creative writing workshop for kids ages 10–14 led by award-winning author Claire Yang, teaching memoir and personal essay skills through guided exercises on voice, structure, and reflection. Held at Westfield Library.
