The Summit Farmers Market operates every Sunday rain or shine from April through December, offering fresh produce and local goods from 8AM to 1PM at the Park & Shop Lot #1 in downtown Summit, NJ. It's open to all ages and families.

Family-friendly Discovery Weekends invite families with children ages 3 and up to explore the Arboretum’s gardens and grounds during autumn. Activities center around the Stackhouse Education Center.

A fun, interactive dance and movement class for babies and toddlers (ages 0–5) where caregivers join in singing, motor skill activities, and dancing together.

A summer lunch program for rising 1st–2nd graders featuring extended afternoon activities with food and fun. Campers bring lunch from morning sessions and stay for an extra hour.

A summer cooking camp for kids ages 5–10, featuring food-themed activities and extended lunchtime fun. Campers join morning sessions and stay an extra hour for more food, friends, and hands-on cooking fun.

A monthly evening LEGO-building session for kids aged 8 and up, encouraging creativity and imagination with themed open play. Hosted at Westfield Library.

Learn to play Mah Jongg at the library! All levels welcome. Bring your own tiles/card or some will be provided.

Millburn Library's 2026 Summer Reading Challenge 'Unearth A Story' invites kids, teens, and adults to log reading for prizes—brag tags, books, prize wheels for kids; weekly raffle tickets for teens and adults. Open to all ages.

Theis a free hands-on learning experience that encourages skill-building and creativity in children ages 5-12. Skills such as following step-by-step instructions, working with hand tools like hammers and screwdrivers, and painting. The Workshops are hosted by store associates who also serve as Workshop Captains. Children should be accompanied by a parent or guardian to assist them with completing the workshop kit. The time for completing the kits varies but usually takes 30 minutes. Each child can bring home a newly constructed project, a Kids Workshops apron, an achievement pin, and a certificate. These Workshops are held on the first Saturday of each month, starting at 9am, while supplies last, in all stores nationwide. Be sure to register to secure your spot. Story Time in Barnes & Noble Children's Department Watch your kids as they embark on an exciting adventure with our Storytime expert. We will introduce your little one to some of your childhood favorites, as well as read some you may have never heard before! Every Tuesday and Thursday at 10 a.m.

A summer preschool storytime series at Millburn Library for kids ages 4–6 with a caregiver. Includes stories, songs, movement, and a craft. Register for the full 5-week session (July 7–August 4); sessions run 45 minutes.

A summer Dungeons & Dragons club for teens (ages 12+) at Millburn Library. Beginners are welcome, and no residency is required.

Come in from the heat and do our brand new jigsaw puzzles with your friends. Have a snack, listen to some music and relax with puzzles! If you don’t finish, you can always check out the puzzles and finish them at home! Recommended for ages 8-12. Program will take place in Room B. Registration required.

Annual community gathering in Wildwood with free games, food, prizes, and a dunk tank. Family-friendly and aimed at building neighborhood unity and police-community partnerships.

Join Miss Katie and Muffin for a cozy indoor campout at Westfield Library, featuring campfire songs, stories, and snacks. Designed for children ages 2–6 accompanied by a caregiver, with limited space and tickets available day-of.

Free outdoor live music series held Tuesday and Thursday evenings in Downtown Westfield during summer. All ages welcome; families and adults enjoy dancing, dining, and strolling to performances at venues including Quimby Street and Foundation Park.

The 50th annual IAATO Italian Festival offers food, games, rides, live music, fireworks, raffles, and cooking demos. It runs Wednesday through Sunday and is a family-friendly community event.
