This is an online presentation; you must sign up here to gain access. From our friends at Stand Out for College: We are offering this Zoom presentation to help families of high school juniors, sophomores, and freshmen better understand the college admissions process and how to successfully navigate today’s changing landscape. The session will cover current admissions trends and strategies, the evolving test optional environment, the importance of researching and visiting colleges to find the right fit, and key timelines and action steps that can make this season productive while easing stress along the way. We will also take a close look at the holistic admissions review process, including what admissions officers value when evaluating applicants and how students can develop a strong personal narrative that reflects their strengths, interests, and experiences. Another focus will be on the role of community service and how meaningful involvement can foster personal growth, strengthen a student’s character, and demonstrate a positive impact on others. Admissions officers consistently place great emphasis on character, and thoughtful service can help students show initiative and a genuine commitment to helping their communities. This program is recommended for parents and their high school teens. It provides a clear and strategic overview of what students should prioritize for a successful college admissions journey and how to approach the process with confidence and less stress. The presentation will be led by Ron Feuchs and Jackie Tepper, partners at Stand Out For College LLC (www.standoutforcollege.com). Sign up for the Monthly Teen Newsletter.

Greta is fascinated by Big Swiss's refreshing attitude toward trauma. They both have dark histories, but Big Swiss chooses to remain unattached to her suffering while Greta continues to be tortured by her past. One day, Greta recognizes Big Swiss's voice at the dog park. In a panic, she introduces herself with a fake name and they quickly become enmeshed. Although Big Swiss is unaware of Greta's true identity, Greta has never been more herself with anyone. Her attraction to Big Swiss overrides her guilt, and she'll do anything to sustain the relationship...

Now is the Time: Artists Go to Work - Toni Morrison’s Atelier and the Importance of Artistic Convening and Collaboration

Hurley Gallery at Lewis Arts complex on Princeton University campus, 122 Alexander St, Hurley Gallery b at Lewis Arts complex on the Princeton University campus, NJ, 08544, United States, Princeton, NJ
“This is precisely the time when artists go to work. There is no time for despair.” – Toni Morrison. Princeton Professor, Emeritus, Toni Morrison taught that the measure of a nation is not in its monuments but in the stories it has the courage to face. To reckon with the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence is to reckon with freedom declared in words long before it was lived in practice, and to grapple with a history that has constantly faced erasure. A convening of artists, thinkers, and communities will collectively reflect on the unfinished work this anniversary makes so strikingly apparent. The Lewis Center’s Princeton Atelier and The Collaboratorium for Radical Aesthetics joins The Toni Morrison Foundation and the Park Avenue Armory to present a panel discussion reflecting on the power of artistic convening and collaboration as part of the on-going legacy of the Atelier’s founder, Toni Morrison. Moderated by Atelier Director Tina Campt and former Program Director for Arts and Culture at The Mellon Foundation Emil Kang, speakers include curator and choreographer Rashida Bumbray; Grammy Award-winning drummer, composer, producer, and educator Terri Lyne Carrington; founder of Kindred on the Rock, writer, and activist Staceyann Chin; MacArthur Fellow and movement artist Okwui Okpokwasili and her co-founder of Sweat Variant, director, composer and designer Peter Born; and Grammy Award-winning bassist, composer, and educator Esperanza Spalding. Accessibility: The Wallace Theater is an accessible venue. Guests in need of access accommodations are asked to contact the Lewis Center at LewisCenter@princeton.edu at least one week prior to the event date.
